The Triumphal entry of Jesus into Jerusalem! Like the demons of the desert, another distraction for Jesus on his road to Gethsemane.
It has come round so quickly, again, and it begins that holy week of the year when we have an opportunity to walk the Way with Jesus through death to life. It is a really holy time and an opportunity for each of us to grow with Jesus.
In some ways this week is too important to allow it to pass without finding the time to reflect on Jesus’ overwhelming love for us, to recognise his courage, to face the choices he had to make with him, to stand back in horror with Peter and feel that human vulnerability.
Don’t clutter this week with the mundane worries of our daily lives. Just for one week focus on Holy Week.
Be reconciled on Monday evening, celebrate with your brothers and sister the healing and forgiving love of Jesus.
Take the trouble to journey to OLOL on Thursday night to share Jesus’ Passover. Walk the way of the Cross with Jesus on Friday in SH, a Passion that leaves Jesus in the Tomb. Be there when the stone is rolled away on Holy Saturday night and the darkness of the tomb is shattered by the Light of Christ! Alleluia!!
Find time this Holy Week.
Just a thought!
